Cookie Policy

1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on evanchristidis.com.
The site uses strictly necessary storage to remember your cookie choice and, only with your permission, Google Analytics 4 to measure website usage. The site does not currently use advertising or remarketing pixels on its own visitors.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a device by a website. Similar technologies may store or access information in a browser for comparable purposes.
3. Necessary storage
Necessary storage is used only where needed to provide a function you request or to remember your privacy choice. It does not require analytics consent.
Recommended consent-preference cookie for this website:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ec_cookie_consent | evanchristidis.com | Remembers whether analytics was accepted or rejected so the site does not repeatedly ask on every visit. | 6 months |
If the implemented consent tool uses a different necessary cookie, this table must be updated before publication.
4. Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 is intended to remain disabled until you choose “Accept analytics”. When enabled, GA4 may set the following first-party cookies:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Default duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users for analytics purposes. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<GTM-W4SKVTDC> | Google Analytics | Persists session state for the relevant GA4 property. | Up to 2 years |
Browser restrictions or configuration may shorten these lifetimes. Google may also change its technical implementation over time.
5. Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager is used to manage tags. It must be configured so that GA4 and any other non-essential measurement tag does not activate before analytics consent.
For the consent model selected for this website, analytics should be hard-blocked before consent rather than sending analytics or “cookieless” measurement pings before a positive choice.
6. Google Search Console
Google Search Console is used by the website owner to review aggregate search-performance information. It does not require a separate behavioural cookie tag to be installed on visitors for this purpose.
7. Accepting, rejecting, and withdrawing consent
When the cookie banner appears, you can accept or reject analytics. Rejecting analytics must not prevent access to the portfolio or contact form.
You can change your choice later through the “Cookie Settings” control in the website footer. Withdrawing analytics consent should stop future analytics collection and remove first-party GA4 cookies from the website domain where technically possible.
8. Future tools
Calendly, social-media embeds, advertising pixels, heatmaps, or other third-party embeds are not currently covered as active website technologies under this policy. They should not be enabled until their privacy impact, cookie behaviour, and consent requirements have been reviewed and this policy and the consent interface have been updated where necessary.
9. Contact
